About Geothermal Heating
What is geothermal energy?
Geothermal power is energy generated by heat stored in the earth. Here in Ireland, as in the rest of the world, the earth beneath our feet is literally saturated with geothermal energy, absorbed from the sun's rays penetrating the earth's surface all the time. The technology to tap into that heat source, harness it and channel it into our homes to drive our heating systems has been around for decades and it is now affordable to most home-owners.
As geothermal heat pump suppliers and specialists in sustainable eco-friendly products, at Geothermal Ireland our expert consultants and engineers are working with environmentally aware homeowners to bring the savings of geothermal heating systems to Irish homes. Our aim is to cater for the energy and heating needs of the Irish population by introducing them to the cost savings and environmental benefits of using renewable energy to heat our homes.
How does geothermal heating work?
The EarthLinked® geothermal system captures the constant temperature of the earth and transports it through a circuit of direct thermal interchanges from the earth to a heat pump, which then distributes the heat source to regular radiators and hot water cylinders.
This is achieved by using only 25% of the electrical energy normally required to run a conventional heating system.
In the summer, the system can be reversed to cool the property, transporting the heat to the subsoil, generating an energy saving of more than 50% compared to other conventional systems.
Fast and easy installation with
The closed geothermal ground loop can be installed in a day, depending on ground conditions. This circuit system offers three different designs:
adapting to new systems and allowing the upgrade of existing appliances.
The different designs allow the customer to choose the correct and most suitable installation even for small spaces. |
